Mindfulness Courses Adults
The 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course is an 8-week programme meeting once a week either individually or as a group where we practice meditations involving breathing and movement. Home practice is a large part of the programme, making it a daily routine every day for 8 weeks.
As we train our minds to notice and become more aware of our present moment experience we learn how to manage our thoughts and feelings which makes it more likely that we can “break out” of our sometimes unhelpful thought patterns.
We become more able to make a wise choice about how we respond to our thoughts and emotions.
The 8-week course is an amalgamation of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s programme which he has been running for the last 30 years for patients with hard to treat conditions such as chronic pain, insomnia and heart disease, and the work of Mark Williams using mindfulness for people with recurrent depression and anxiety.
The 8-week programme is once a week for 2 hours duration in groups of no more than 8 participants, you will receive a workbook and downloadable audio guided meditations for you to practice at home.
